PMPG SA - changes in the Supervisory Board
Jarosław Pachowski, Marek Jakubczyk and Piotr Żochowski have been appointed new members of the Supervisory Board of Platforma Mediowa Point Group (WSE: POINTGROUP (PGM)). They replace the international SB members, Giuseppe Mirante and David Williams, as well as Krzysztof Feluch. Changes in the composition of the Supervisory Board were approved by the Extraordinary General Shareholders' Meeting on February 13, 2009.
The reason for the changes has been the amended structure of PMPG SA stock ownership related to the acquisition of funds for the purchase of shares in Przedsiębiorstwo Wydawnicze "Rzeczpospolita" and PMPG SA's near term focus on the development of projects targeted on the Polish market.
Between 2002-2005, Jarosław Pachowski acted as the President of the Management Board of Polkomtel SA, operator of Plus mobile telephone network. Between 1998-2002, he acted as the V-ce President of the Management Board of TVP SA (Polish Television), and before that, as the Chairman of its Supervisory Board. In 1996, on the recommendation of Zrzeszenie Banków Polskich (Polish Banks Association) and on behalf of 16 banks, he established and managed Polska Giełda Finansowa SA. In addition, he acted as the advisor and representative of a number of large foreign companies entering the Polish market (e.g. Austrian Billa or French Legrand). At the moment, he works as a private investor.
Marek Jakubczyk - partner at Tigon Capital Limited where he is responsible for the Polish and Ukrainian markets as well as markets of the Baltic states; chairman of supervisory boards of Bydgoszcz Airport and Mazovian Sochaczew Airport. Formerly, he worked as a partner in Capital Park operating on real estate market, where he was responsible for, among others, investments in the Ukraine; also, he served on Management Boards and held managerial positions in DARBY OVERSEAS INVESTMENTS and DRESDNER KLEINWORT CAPITAL investment funds which operate on markets in Central and Eastern Europe. Prior to that, he worked in Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein where he dealt with derivatives.
Piotr Żochowski acts as a Financial Director and V-ce President of the Management Board responsible for financial affairs in Pioneer Pekao Towarzystwo Funduszy Inwestycyjnych S.A. Between 1996-1999, he worked in Arthur Andersen Sp. z o.o. as a consultant in the auditing department. From August 1999 until the end of 2000, he worked in Pioneer Pierwsze Polskie Towarzystwo Funduszy Inwestycyjnych S.A. as a financial controller. Since January 2001, he has worked in Pioneer Pekao Investment Management S.A., where since March 2001, he has worked as a Financial Director. At the same time, from May 22, 2001, he acted as the V-ce President of the Management Board of Pekao/Alliance TFI S.A. (later transformed into Pekao TFI S.A.) until its merger with Pioneer PPTFI S.A. Since June 2007, he has been a member of the team responsible for the development of business activity in Pioneer Global Asset Management in the region of Central and Eastern Europe.
PMPG SA Supervisory Board members who retained their positions include Tomasz Biełanowicz, acting as the Chairman, Director of Bonds Sale Department in ABN AMRO BANK POLSKA S.A. and Katarzyna Gintrowska acting as Deputy Chairman of SB.
Our former Supervisory Board members will continue to be actively involved in the company. Giuseppe Mirante will advise the Management Board on projects aimed at entering the international markets. David Williams will get involved in strategic projects, such as developing the marketing services agency.
Giuseppe Mirante served on PMPG SA Supervisory Board since July 9, 2007. He is a Managing Director of Tigon Capital Limited, and used to work as an Investment Manager at Cyrus Capital Partners Europe, LLP and Trafalgar Asset Managers in London.
David Williams, who served on PMPG SA Supervisory Board also since July 2007, works as the Managing Director at POCKET TV SRL. Formerly, he worked as the Managing Director for the Eastern Europe region and CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising Poland and as a Marketing Director in Walt Disney Productions.
