PMPG bought shares in One Group
Platforma Mediowa Point Group SA has signed investment conditions with One Group, the publisher of celebritiy gossip and lifestyle websites. Thus, portfolio of PMPG SA websites will be extended by social network services Ukaraj.pl and Bulvar.pl.
Websites acquired by PMPG appear among TOP 20 most popular websites publishing news related to entertainment and lifestyle, according to PBI/Megapanel survey.
In line with the conditions, PMPG will acquire 40.3 per cent of shares in One Group with an option to increase its share to 70.3 per cent within 12 months from signing the conditions.
"This transaction will enable PMPG to broaden its reach on the internet, reaching a much more extensive group of users than by means of the celebrity-gossip website managed by the company at the moment. From PMPG's point of view, they comprise a highly attractive group of young and very young people, the so called heavy users, that is people using internet for at least two years and spending most time browsing the net" - says Artur Racicki, director of website development in Platforma Mediowa Point Group. - "At the same time, we will develop our competence in areas such as entertainment and lifestyle, that is those which are most popular on the internet. This will enable considerable increase in our revenue in this particular area".

One Group is a website publisher of Ukaraj.pl and Bulvar.pl, jointly visited by about 300,000 users monthly, with approx. 3 million page views. Ukaraj.pl publishes the latest celebrity gossips, photo galleries and video materials about Polish and world-famous stars. The website has been developed and designed as a ranking of celebrities in which users can comment on behaviours of celebrities. Additionally, within the social network, users share their information on a website forum. Horoscope available only for registered users complements website content. Bulvar.pl is an exclusive website presenting the most luxurious products and services offered worldwide. It provides descriptions of the latest fashion and style trends, lifestyle news and show business news reports.
Since August 2008, the portfolio of Platforma Mediowa Point Group has been extended by a website of similar nature - Kulisy.pl. It also presents the latest gossips, behind-the-scene stories of public persons but they are not limited only to celebrities. Kulisy.pl also reveals stories of celebrities from the world of mass media, sports and politics, and figures admired usually by TV viewers. Additionally, the website presents materials from investigations, real stories behind affairs and social drama.
Under the conditions, Kulisy.pl will now be managed by One Group. One Group will be managed by the Management Board composed of two people: Konrad Kossowski, co-owner of the company and a person recommended by PMPG SA. Moreover, editorial teams of all websites will merge.
